mwbwAssaka (anche mwcaAshmaka), fu uno dei mwcqsolasa (sedici) mwcgMahajanapada dell'mwcwIndia antica (mwda700-mwdq300 a.C.) menzionati nel testo mwdgbuddista mwdwAnguttara Nikaya.

Assaka era situato sulle rive del fiume mweqGodavari.cite-ref-1[1] La sua capitale fu Potali (Potana o Podaná), localizzata nella regione dell'odierno mwfgtehsil di mwfwNandura. Fu l'unico mahajanapada situato a sud della catena dei mwgamonti Vindhya. Il testo buddista mwgqMahagovinda Suttanta fa menzione di un regnante di Assaka, Brahmadatta, che governò da Potana.cite-ref-2[2]

In epoca successiva, su questo territorio si sviluppò l'mwhwImpero della Dinastia Rashtrakuta, nel moderno Stato indiano del mwiaMaharashtra.
